Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient operation of a winder for shaft sinking, including:selecting and using the required tools and equipmentconducting equipment and work area pre-start checksidentifying, addressing, recording and reporting defects, hazards and risks and environmental issuesconfirm kibble is ready for operationdemonstrates completion of operating a winder for shaft sinking that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:completing start-up and shutdown proceduresapplying dust suppression and extraction methodsenergising the systemadjusting speed and movementmonitoring and managing the winder performance using indicatorsoperating the winder/s for shaft sinking operationsisolating and inspecting winderconfirming, checking and taking action to ensure control cabin is environmentally and ergonomically sound
